Computex 2015 Selects Acer Revo One for Best Choice of the Year Award

 - Acer announces that the Revo One RL85 mini PC has won the Best Choice of the Year award as well as a Best Choice Gold award in the Computer & System category at Computex Taipei 2015. In addition, the multiple-award winning Revo One has been recognized for design excellence as a recipient of Red Dot and Computex d&i design awards.

Acer’s S277HK monitor and Chromebook 11 also received Best Choice awards in the Touch & Display and the Cloud Computing categories respectively.

The Best Choice of the Year award was selected from 9 Gold Award winners from 18 categories, and from among 450 competing products at this year’s Computex. All winning products will be exhibited at the Best Choice Award Pavilion and at Acer’s booth at Computex at TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall 4F, M0810, from June 2nd to 6th.

Acer Revo One Desktop

The Revo One RL85 is a mini PC for family use with sleek, simple and stylish design. Engineered as an entire family’s entertainment center, the Revo One is big on capabilities while maintaining a small form factor, thanks to the thin design and high capacity of the Samsung Spinpoint™ M9T hard drive it employs. It supports up to 6TB of storage, up to two 4K displays, and 7.1 channel audio output. With its small footprint and discreet form with soft curves, the Revo One saves on space and fits in every corner of the home.

“Samsung’s thin hard drive design helps us to realize the Revo One’s small form while maintaining its big capabilities to fit stylishly in any home,” said Simon Hwang, president of Stationary Computing and Display Business Group, Acer.

“We are excited to learn that the Spinpoint M9T has contributed to the award winning design of the Revo One. Congratulations to Acer for being chosen as the Computex Best Choice of Year award,” said Doug DeHaan, general manager, Samsung HDD.

The Revo One ships with an optional multi-use remote control. This accessory features a full keyboard to easily type-in searches and text and a large track-pad to control media. Thanks to Acer Smart Control, an ad-hoc app available for iOS and Android devices, the user can control the Revo One remotely and stream content directly from their smartphone.

Acer S277HK Monitor

The 27-inch Acer S277HK monitor combines a stylish form factor with great functionality for a premium audio/visual experience. It features 4K2K Ultra HD (3840x2160) visuals on a frameless screen, a super-fast HDMI 2.0 connection support and speakers with DTS® sound.

When placed side by side, two S277HK monitors present an ideal multi-monitor setup, offering a nearly seamless viewing experience with its frameless screen. Leveraging IPS technology, the S277HK’s screen delivers exceptional color saturation, color stability and 178-degree wide vertical and horizontal viewing angles. The Acer S277HK was designed with beauty in mind, from the sleek hair-line aluminum bezel, asymmetric metallic stand and glossy white back panel, to the dynamically styled speakers and venting holes.

Acer Chromebook 11

The Acer Chromebook 11 enhances life on-the-go with fast connectivity and long-lasting battery life that extends productivity from day to night on a single charge. The Chromebook 11 meets the needs of students, families, and anyone on a budget, as an affordable secondary device, and for the growing number of customers who enjoy the Google ecosystem for school, work and entertainment.

Earlier in 2015, Acer expanded the line of Chromebooks for the education market with the C740 model. It is a compact Chromebook with an 11.6-inch display that neatly fits in a student backpack and provides up to 9 hours of battery life. Its newly enhanced durable designs with extended metal hinges can handle even more of the rigors so common to the education environment. While keeping data safe by supporting multiple user sign on and guarding against ever-changing online threats, schools can deploy and manage the platform cost-effectively, quickly and securely.
