Islam Slimani

Leicester, forward, 29 years old

Monaco seems to have taken decision on the Kylian Mbappé replacement. In case the young talent will buy a ticket to Paris before the closing of transfer window.

According to Sky Sports, the Monegasques drew attention to Islam Slimani from Leicester after the refusal about Andrea Belotti from Torino. Anyway, Craig Shakespeare does not give him much of playing practice.

It is expected Mbappé will be sold pretty soon, and the British club will receive an official request for a transfer right after that.

By the way, Islam costed £29 million for the Foxes last summer. Watford and Newcastle are also interested in Slimani, but the forward himself will choose Monaco if nothing changes.

However, several sources in France (Le10Sport and L'Equipe) claim Mbappé transfer to PSG can be postponed until the next summer due to some problems with financial fair play. So, it means Slimani will most likely not go anywhere.

Our forecast: Leicester

Jonny Evans

West Bromvich, defender, 29 years old

West Brom will have to work hard to make their defender and team captain Jonny Evans begin September at Hawthorns.

Manchester City was interested in this 29-year-old player of the Northern Ireland team and the former Manchester United football player. Arsene Wenger intended to compete with the Citizens for him as they might lose Shkodran Mustafi one of these days.

The German moved to the Emirates from Valencia for £35 million last summer. He agreed a personal contract with the Milan's Inter and is about to move to Italy on loan with a release option. But if in Inter they ask to simply include such a point, the Londoners insist on a release obligation.

As for Evans, his transfer value is estimated at £25 million. The Throstles refused to sell a defender for £18 million last week, and already decided on a replacement candidate as Mamadou Sakho would come from Liverpool.

Our forecast: Arsenal.

Ross Barkley

Everton, midfielder, 23 years old

Chelsea is expected to swing another three deals before summer transfer window closing, reports The Telegraph.

The Londoners are ready to spend £35 million on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal), £40 million on Lester's midfielder Daniel Drinkwater and £25 more on Ross Barkley from Everton.

Drinkwater costs more, because Oxlade-Chamberlain and Barkley can become free agents in a year. Both rejected their current clubs offers of new contracts at the same time.

The source adds Chelsea are ready to beat any offer from the Spurs regarding the 23-year-old Barkley. The Blues also hope to get along with the Toffees, as they had strained relations due to the talks breakdown on John Stones in 2015 and Romelu Lukaku in 2017.

It was expected the clubs would discuss all transfer details on August 27 during the Premier League match at Stamford Bridge.

Our forecast: Chelsea.

Kieran Gibbs

Arsenal, defender, 27 years old

Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs will become Watford player one of these days, informs Sky Sports.

The clubs have already agreed on the amount of compensation for the 27-year-old football player according to the publication. The Hornets need to agree on the terms of personal contract with Gibbs himself now. It is noted Marco Silva is ready to promise the Englishman a stable place in the first team on the Vicarage Road unlike Arsene Wenger.

Newcastle also keep tabs on the situation with the left-back as he had lost his position to Nacho Montreal and can become a free agent in a year.

Our forecast: Watford.

Lionel Messi

Barcelona, forward, 30 years old

We would like to complete our traditional review with important news about the Blaugrana's leader Lionel Messi.

Fans of the Catalan club can be calm as at least one candidate for the Argentine has already left the race. "Come on, it's unreal. Messi will stay in Barcelona. Transfers before transfer window closing? We can do something, but at that moment we are happy with everything”, - Manchester City sports director Txiki Begiristain said in an interview with Marca.

As you know, the current Messi contract with the "blaugranas" expires next summer, and the player still hasn’t signed a new one.

According to the Spanish media, Messi communicates often with the Barcelona's former president Joan Laporta and Augusti Benedito. The last one is preparing a vote of no-confidence to the current Barcelona managers. Lionel does not like the policy of Josep Bartomeu. The forward believes that Bartomeu's words do not meet the actions often. It all might be about the absence of good transfers (Dembele does not fit?) and Neymar’s sale.

According to some information, Messi will not sign a new contract with Barcelona until Laporta becomes the club’s president.
